Why Clean Planet?

Well, for me, it's going out at least once a month to intentionally clean up a park, neighborhood, walkway, or hiking path. It’s about being responsible and being the kind of human to say, “ I can do that” instead of “Someone else should clean up this area.” And I say that because prior to being involved in the Clean Planet tribe, I noticed I was complaining, either out loud or in my head, that the city or someone should start picking up the trash in our neighborhood.

I choose to start taking action by joining the leadership team at Clean Planet. Do I sometimes not feel like going out on the last Saturday of each month to clean up trash?

Yes, indeed, sometimes I can think of other things to do. What brings me back is my commitment that everyone has a say in how things go for their lives and our planet.

My commitment is to be the kind of person who is a force of nature, authentic, and a contribution wherever I go.

Lastly, I think our world may be a little brighter if we could remind ourselves and others that every action makes a difference. Maybe it’s a massive group clean up where there is energy and excitement in the air or a solo walk down a side tree, if you see it, you own it!
