July Clean Planet Day: Támbula (México)

Writer's picture: Andy BayonAndy Bayon

It’s all about the kiddos. They were our focus for July’s Clean Planet Day, a Clean Planet Play Date on Veronica’s family’s farm outside of San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato. Many of the children present were Veronica’s cousins.

Our curriculum taught the kids about the origin of and dangers of plastic, including the masses of plastic and other non-biodegradable trash in the ocean. As seems to always be the case, despite being full of energy, the kids listened during these educational pieces, and were able to recall Veronica’s lessons later on in the event when we asked about what was previously covered.

Our educational bits were sprinkled in between games of jump rope, tag, red light/green light, and pato-pato-ganso (duck-duck-goose) and probably the most popular of the day – potato sack races.
