The sun had barely risen when five of us gathered at the base of the Hills of Taganga. Armed with gloves, trash bags, and a shared mission, we set out at 7 AM sharp—a little groggy, but excited.
We weren’t just going for a hike; we were on a mission. A mission to give back to the land that gives us so much.
As we climbed, the views were breathtaking—rolling hills, ocean waves in the distance, and fresh morning air. But then… the less beautiful part: plastic bottles, wrappers, and Styrofoam peeking out from under the bushes. That was our cue!
CleanPlanet Day💪 Game on.
For the next hour and a half, we picked, sorted, and packed up the waste—separating it into plastic, paper, glass, and Styrofoam so it could be properly disposed of. By the end, we had seven full bags of trash, and the difference was immediate. What was once littered trails now looked fresh and clean again.
And you know what made it even better? The feeling of accomplishment—knowing we’d left this place better than we found it.
Of course, all heroes need a reward. Ours? Arepa de huevo. 🥚✨
We sat down at a local spot, savoring the crispy, golden goodness of this classic coastal Colombian snack, sharing stories, laughs, and a sense of fulfillment.
🌿 Why We Do This
Besides the epic views and delicious arepas, these cleanups matter because:
✅ They make an instant impact—you can see the difference.
✅ They inspire others—small actions create big ripple effects.
✅ They connect us with nature—because loving the Earth means taking care of it.
